The Regional Policy Council Virtual Winter Meeting
Injustice and Inequity: The Path Toward Innovation and Inclusion
Mental Health America's Regional Policy Council (RPC) will hold a half-day virtual meeting entitled Injustice and Inequity: The Path Toward Innovation and Inclusion. The meeting will begin at 11:00 am ET (8:00 am PT) starting with an Awards Ceremony recognizing state mental health champions and will continue with program sessions led by national experts and state leaders from the MHA affiliate field. Participants will learn about programs and practices across the country that may inform more equitable and innovative health, justice, and education policymaking, including:
- Care Not Cuffs Initiative of the Equitas Project that promotes mental health and freedom over punishment and incarceration
- Denver Star Team and other model programs for assisting persons in crisis
- Programs to meet the mental health needs of indigenous adults and children
