Turn hope into help today.

Making a crypto donation to Mental Health America supports our mission to advance the mental health and well-being of all people living in the U.S. through public education, research, advocacy and public policy, and direct service.

Your impact

From connecting people to essential mental health resources or nurturing the next generation of advocates, every gift holds the potential to transform lives.

$50 connects 40 people to our free online mental health screening tools.

$100 helps us reach 2,000 people with essential public education tools and resources.

$500 supports the professional growth of a nationally-recognized youth mental health leader for six months, empowering them to advocate for change and provide vital support to their peers.

We accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and over 100 additional leading cryptocurrencies.

FAQs

Donating crypto is safe, easy, and fast. Using the donation form on this page, making a charitable gift is a quick three-step process:

  1. Select your preferred crypto and enter your gift amount
  2. Type in your email and basic info (or choose to give anonymously)
  3. Make your gift!

The IRS classifies cryptocurrencies as property, so cryptocurrency donations to 501(c)3 charities receive the same tax treatment as stocks.

When donating crypto, you receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax that you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation. That means you’re able to donate more, as well as deduct more on your tax return.

Sometimes more than 30%. We recommend contacting your tax or financial advisor for more information.

If you provide an email, you will automatically receive a tax receipt after donating.

Crypto charitable donations are processed quickly and safely with The Giving Block and Gemini Trust Exchange.
