Mental Health America (MHA) strongly encourages employers to use the Bell Seal application process to strategically evaluate their organization’s policies, practices, and benefits that support employees’ mental health and well-being. Creating a mentally healthy workplace is not just good for employees and fulfilling on a human level; it’s good business.
Employers with Bell Seal recognition receive:
An evaluation by MHA’s Workplace Wellness team, using its proprietary Bell Seal scoring rubric, which aligns with established evidence-based best practices for workplace mental health
A PDF report with scores for each section (Workplace Culture, Benefits, Compliance, and Wellness), a total score indicating whether the employer qualified and at which recognition level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum), and a benchmarking chart comparing your scores to the average scores of other employers and recipients
Access to the promotion toolkit, including a digital badge and templates for internal and external communications
A digital certificate, or the option for a mailed certificate (at an additional cost)
Enrollment in the quarterly Workplace Wellness newsletter
I enjoyed the comprehensive and holistic approach of the Bell Seal program, which evaluates workplace mental health from multiple perspectives, including policies, practices, and associate experience. The structured framework provided valuable insights into BCI’s strengths while highlighting opportunities for growth. Additionally, the process encouraged meaningful reflection on how we can further support associate well-being, reinforcing our commitment to fostering a mentally healthy workplace. – Bridgeway Center, Inc.
