Having ADHD is not
- Exclusive to kids. ADHD is much more than the stereotype of energetic kids. In fact, ADHD persists into adulthood in around 50-65% of individuals.
- A lack of discipline. When it comes to mental health disorders, it’s not just a matter of willpower. ADHD brains are wired differently, which means that some skills that come naturally to most people are really difficult for those with ADHD.
- A sign of failure. It’s common for people with ADHD to feel like they just can’t keep up with life. ADHD can make things harder, but workarounds and strategies can help – it has nothing to do with your character.
