Project Return Peer Support Network was started by Mental Health America of Los Angeles in 1979 as California’s first staff facilitated peer support program. Since its humble beginnings it has evolved into a completely peer run nonprofit agency. With an emphasis on promoting wellness, person growth and self-determination for people living with mental illness. We provide a wide range of services that include 120 self-help groups each week throughout all of Los Angeles County, an after hours warm line, two Spanish speaking programs, a peer respite house, on-line support groups, a community integration program focused on providing peer support in more restrictive environments and a locally recognized 6-week rigorous Peer Professional Training and Placement program.
