"Peer Support Across the Continuum of Community Mental Health Center Services," a SAMHSA- sponsored two-part series webinar presented by Mental Health America, will take place Tuesday, June 28, from 3-4:30 p.m. ET (Part One) and Tuesday, July 5, from 3-4 p.m. ET (Part Two).
Integration of peers in multiple mental health settings has helped support recovery and transition for individuals with a mental health diagnosis, particularly serious mental illness. In this webinar, peer leaders from MHA of South Central Kansas will share the history and implementation of integrating peer support specialists in the continuum of care in Kansas State. They will provide an overview of implementing peer training and integrating peers in member care from crisis services, through community mental health programming, and into independent living.

Meet the presenters
Bailey Blair, clinical liaison, MHA of South Central Kansas
Bailey Blair is a micro- and macro-level social work practitioner, as well as a person with lived experience and a peer support specialist. Professionally, Blair brings more than 10 years of experience in a variety of roles in the behavioral health system. As the clinical liaison for the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas, Blair provides coordination and clinical support for consumers entering mental health services from inpatient psychiatric care, correctional facilities, homeless shelters, and other community providers. Blair's responsibilities include diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, clinical auditing and oversight, and student recruitment and supervision. Blair is the lead trainer and curriculum designer for the Kansas Certified Peer Specialist Training program; she also serves as the co-chair of the Sedgwick County Suicide Prevention Coalition and is a member of the Kansas Governor's Behavioral Health Services Planning Council Prevention Subcommittee and the State Suicide Prevention Workgroup. Blair is also the vice president and lead trainer for StopSuicideICT.
Christine Young, peer specialist, MHA of South Central Kansas
Christine Young is the peer support team lead for the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas, as well as a trainer for the Kansas Certified Peer Specialist Training Program. Young brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the development and provision of services through a strengths- based, trauma-informed perspective. Drawing on her experience as both a peer and case manager in a community mental health center, Young has been instrumental in establishing the role of peer support workers across the service continuum, including case collaboration and crisis care.
