Ms. Melanie Funchess is Director of Community Engagement for the Mental Health Association of Rochester/ Monroe County. Ms. Funchess has been an advocate for families and youth for over 25 years and works extensively in the areas of family engagement/empowerment, community building, education and community health. She presents, trains, and consults locally and nationally in culturally responsive practice, family engagement, community building, racial trauma and healing, and mental health in communities of color. She served as a School Board Commissioner for the Rochester Board of Education. Ms. Funchess is involved in several national and community based coalitions and organizations.
