Why Attend our 2020 Annual Conference: From Resiliency To Recovery?
Allow us to give recap of all the cool stuff that happened in 2019 to show you this is the one conference you want to attend!
More than 750 affiliates, clinicians, advocates, and friends gathered in Washington, DC with us in 2019.
We heard from powerful plenary speakers, including Dr. Tim Shriver of Special Olympics, Dr. Josh Gordon of NIMH, off-road racer Justin Peck, and All-American gymnast Katelyn Ohashi, along interviewers Road and Track’s Steven Cole Smith and ESPN’s Holly Rowe. MHA President and CEO Paul Gionfriddo hosted a panel conversation featuring Jesse Milan of AIDS United and Scott Badesch of the Autism Society. We were inspired by the examples set by award winners such as Greg Dicharry, the Booz Allen Hamilton team, the MHA Houston team, and Kelley Kitley. We were moved to both tears and joy by the stories told at the Media Awards Luncheon by Roger Weisberg, WBFO, the Deseret News, Amazon Studios, ABC, and the Egg Gang.
We hosted a delegation from ENOSH, our counterpart organization in Israel. And we surprised our good friends former SAMHSA administrator Kana Enomoto and workplace mental health visionary Andy Faas with special recognition awards.
And – we had 30 absolutely incredible breakout sessions!
Together, we shared a mutual vision of a mentally healthier world. A vision where mental health and physical health are treated the same. A world where we address all chronic conditions Before Stage 4.
You shared your stories, programs, and policies with us, and for that we will be forever grateful. You helped create a sense of community that we could take back home with us to sustain us through the coming year.
We thank every 2019 participant for that.
And to our plenary, breakout speakers and awardees, we thank you for choosing our platform to share your innovative work and agency of change.
